Jenna-Louise Coleman has been a British actor for many years. Her most well-known role is as Clara Oswald, the character she played in Doctor Who. As a child she was able to begin acting in the Yer Space theatre, and was part of Crystal Clear, a play that was performed at the Edinburgh Festival. Coleman's performance was praised and she won an award. Coleman's breakthrough came in the role of Jasmine Thomas at Emmerdale. The actress continued to appear in the soap until its ending in 2009. Jasmine Thomas was her character in the National Television Awards 2006. The actress was nominated as Most Popular Freshman at that award ceremony. Coleman made her film debut in 2011 when she played Connie in Captain America: The First Avenger. Her most significant opportunity to showcase her range as an actress was in 2016, when she was offered the part of erstwhile British monarch queen Victoria on the ITV show Victoria.
