Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine, a singer-composer famous for his unique blend of gospel-soul jazz R&B as well as R&B. The singer has worked everywhere from Broadway to The Democratic National Convention to the European club and festival scenes. Sunshine has the name Denise White. The singer hails from Chester Pennsylvania, where she began her professional career playing the piano and singing at church. In Atlanta she was a student at Spellman College where her musical training began on Atlanta's R&B Scene. The Fighting Temptations The first single with her vocals was called Stalk You a house 12 issued exclusively in Japan It has since been remixed numerous times by artists and is an integral part of her live sets. Her voice has also been a part of vocals on The Fighting Temptations' soundtrack. She was then hired as the lead keyboardist for Tyler Perry's stage show Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday was the Grammy and Tony Award winner who approached her in 2007 to serve as the Director of Choral for Dreamgirls, the theatre production that was part of Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine was the subject of national media attention during four daily performances at the 2008 Democratic National Convention and was subsequently invited to sing at the Obama's inauguration 2009.
